Went on Craigslist last night, had a horrible fright
Some guy's selling a... time machine? What an interesting sight
It was just 20 bucks - untested, after all
And in the description it said "if you want this, give me a call"
So I met the guy, I'm not really sure why
Prob'ly a con artist or something, but it's still something I'll buy
He said, "you got the cash?" I said, "yeah here you go"
He handed me a cube with buttons, what they do I just don't know
Let's go to 1968
See Jimi Hendrix in a different state
Then go to 1894
Show a Victorian child hyperpop, watch their head explode!
This may have been a mistake, I'm sure you understand why
The butterfly effect is not to be messed with, especially by some guy
Now my band doesn't exist, I work in a factory
And from the outside-in, I go "what the hell has become of me?"
Travel back to 1968
Shout at myself "stop, this won't end up great!"
Now I'm fighting myself from the past
This time machine was a curse I hope doesn't last
I'm back to the present time
And from here, everything looks fine
Let this be a warning to you
Don't buy a strange time machine from some random dude
